Get Back Your Glow

Girls, let’s face it … our skin just doesn’t glow the way it did in our early 20′s. What we took for granted is now just a distant memory, available only in the form of reminiscent college photos. Now we’re stuck sending selfies to our friends, pointing out wrinkles and saying, “I think I need Botox.” (Guilty as charged.)

Thankfully, with the help of my good friend Sephora, I’m on a mission to get my glow back with these new beauty product allies.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster is a must-have. I received a generous sample of this product a few years back and have been hooked ever since, adding to my daily morning routine. I’ll let the product description speak for itself, as it’s pretty amazing:

This amazing ten-percent vitamin C skin booster and antiaging treatment firms and smoothes, delivering more radiant skin. The weightless, fast-absorbing, oil-free formula penetrates to deep layers of the skin, offering instant and long-term hydration, nourishment, and antioxidant protection against environmental aggressors.

Yeah, it’s that good. And if that description isn’t enough for you, it smells like fresh squeezed orange juice! The perfect morning pick-me-up.

For an extra brightening boost about once a week I use REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. This was another sample I received from Sephora that I couldn’t live without after I saw how soft and glowy it made my skin. Again, it smells delicious, and it’s exfoliating yet gentle enough not to irritate my sensitive skin.

A bit pricey for a product you won’t use every day, so if you’re not quite ready to take the plunge, I’d recommend heading over to Sephora and having them make a sample for you (yes, they’ll do that for any product).

I’ve been genetically blessed with dark undereye circles (thanks, Dad) and am constantly on the search for effective eye creams. One of my new favorites for a little morning de-puffing and brightening action is Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. It actually works, creates a good base for concealer/foundation and is only $30, a steal for an eye cream.

And, if all else fails, fake it. Add a good highlighter to your makeup routine – you can apply to the tops of your cheekbones and browbones (make sure you blend!) to create a glow from within (no one needs to know it’s fake!). Benefit High Beam is a great choice, as you can’t go wrong with its universally flattering light pink glow.
